    Default Colt Ar 15.

I've been lurking around this site for a little while now, and I'm not sure if this is legal, lol.

I recently called a retailer of firearms near me (located in new york state). I asked them if they were selling any ar-15's and the man at the counter told me they were selling colts, among a few other brands. I simply said they i will get there within a week to look around for myself (and ill wait till they are desperate to sell for cheap, lol). I was under the impression that ALL colt Ar-15's,specifically, were banned in new york state, is this retailer selling an illegal firearm?

Thanks for the help guys, if this is somehow legal I plan on possibly jumping all over this deal. ;D

Most new Colt AR's are built as a post ban gun. Due to the flash suppresser/ muzzle brake. They do offer one in a post ban config. http://www.colt.com/law/car.asp I don't know if I would (jump all over a Colt deal). There are a lot better AR's out on the market then a Colt.

Not necessarily. They might be either some used pre-bans or some ban compliant models.

Is the roll mark on the Colt "AR-15" or is it some other model number like AR6721 or something like that.

It was a match hbar II, for like $1500, rip off!

EDIT: Heh, i was just wondering about the specific ban, but it makes sense that they can get around it.

If you ever stomp around in Camillus/Elbridge (Syracuse,) my local shop has a slew of AR's in stock. I think the entry-level models are in the 8-900.00 range and prices go up from there.
