Allow Cross bows for hunting would be first, then take all the restrictions off owning/possessing a pistol......

The ONLY law that needs to be removed from NYS or all states suffering from liberal communism, should be the AWB. I find it funny that you can have access to a preban 30 round magazine, but not a new one. Sorry, but that's somewhat hypocrisy considering it would still allow access to the same number of rounds. Whatever group of idiots that came up with that law, are probably kicking themselves for how stupid it sounds now.
Sig Sauer SIG556 & Sig Sauer 1911 XO & Auto Ordnance 1911-A1 PKZ
Springfield XD(m) 9 (3.8 Compact) & Springfield XD-40 & 1955 Springfield M1 Garand
Springfield Mil-Spec 1911-A1 (Parkerized) & Springfield Mil-Spec 1911-A1 (Stainless)
1917 Remington Mosin Nagant (Numbers Matching) & Colt Gold Cup Trophy 1911
For me, it would be the proper cause requirement for CCW. Downstate, it's currently impossible for "the people. . .to bear arms," and that has to change. Having a handgun at home won't do me much good if I run into trouble on the streets or in the subway, which is where danger is most likely to lie. If you're not a felon and not insane, you should be able to carry. I'd even allow for a mandatory firearms training course (which the state doesn't require), so long as it wasn't expensive. But seriously, Rober De Niro and Howard Stern can carry loaded handguns in NYC, but I can't? Please. . .
I think it did what they wanted it do, and that was to drive up the prices of the magazines we can legally use. A pre-ban magazine we buy used here for $20-30 would cost half of that, and would be factory fresh in a free state.
If anything, they're kicking themselves for not banning all magazines.
I too would have to pick the AWB to be removed first. Although I really do I hate the license to own pistol equally.

Crossbow hunting is alive and on its way in NYS
Crossbow Hunting - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation
If we can choose just one then yea AWB for me too.
Rifle Wants: Nothing legal in NY
USELESS Unrestricted NYS Pistol Permit
Suppose the Second amendment said “A well-educated electorate being necessary for self-governance in a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed.” Is there anyone who would suggest that means only registered voters have a right to read?” - Robert Levy, Georgetown University Professor
Well what the heck, I thought they were tied together myself, idk Hicap law or AWB then.....

2 term and 2-4 years per term limit on ALL public offices from state gov on down to local town council, including county judges, chiefs of police, sheriffs, pubic officials that manage the pubic utilities and services, records clerks, etc.
At least that way we wouldn't have to tolerate them for more than a comparatively short period of time instead of thier entire adult lifetime.
If there's no such thing as trolls, how do you explain all the dead unicorns?
Most people think they're the same law, so don't feel too bad. But they are indeed different. I don't recall if they were tied together in the federal AWB of 1994 though.
That'd be awesome as well. Good ole Charles would've been gone long ago.

Outsource all government with civil honest people ... maybe a group in Finland?
Giving money and power to Government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. -- P.J. O'Rourke
My percentages:
40%- Nix permits to own pistols. SHALL issue CCWs can stay.
35%- AWB.
20%- LCAFD Ban repealed.
5%- Class 3 ban repealed. I'll pay the tax stamp and whatnot, but there is no reason I shouldn't be able to get a suppressor.
So it looks like no Permits to own wins for me.

1. Term limits for politicians. Force out the liberal ****heads!
2. Allow hi-ap mags. As mentioned before, preban are allowed, but not post '94. Stupid law!
In the context of this website... repeal NY Penal Law 265 and 400... the Federal gun laws work just fine for other states like Vermont and Alaska... no reason why they can't work here.
From a political stance - yes, term limits across the board... lifetime politicians - especially those with immense power (i.e., Sheldon Silver) are the root of many of our state's problems.
And... while I'm fine with the "gay thing" so long as what happens in their bedroom stays in the bedroom... and I'm a supporter of organizations like The Pink Pistols... we can repeal that gay marriage law too. (hey you asked)

Definitely the hi-cap restriction.
If I could pick two, then that and the AWB.
If I was king for a day, I would repeal just about every law that's in place to simply impose redundant taxes and fees.
a single law wouldn't fix everything that's wrong with NY.

Nobody thinks it will. The question is "If you could change one..."

Law would say: prohibits laws from making absolutely no sense.
Changing a law though would delete all of the firearm restrictions in the state.
