    The Ruger Charger Pistol is classified as an assault weapon under New York Penal Law .1 Mag. attaches outside the pistol grip and 2 weighs more than 50 oz. unloaded. So the Ruger Charger is not a legal pistol in New York State.

    Yeah, and it's a real shame cause the Charger is awesome and would be great to own and shoot. If it bugs you enough, move to another state, I guess.

    BTW, I've talked to Sgt. Mark O'Brien, found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. He doesn't write the stupid laws, but it's good of him to take the time to try and help you apply them to your situation.

    I don't think anyone has even inquired about one of these here before.

    Though I gotta say, it cracks me up and I find it more than ironic that a ruger firearm is effected by an AWB....
