Thats akin to having a registry.
"First of all, this isn't my idea. It's my oldest son's, (Did I mention the kid is a genius?)"
Ya, sure he is jackwagon.
If insurance companies get involved they will start telling us how much ammo we can keep in the house as well.
Everyone needs to stop with their stupid ideas...
This is going to spiral out of control isn't it?
I think they should just tighten the laws on marijuana abuse...

So if an uninsured shooter, shoots you, would you have to claim it on your insurance? I think I'll go for the no fault policy.

FIFM
sounds like something that would start another civil war
Heck:
Most times, your firearms are covered under you normal homeowners or renters insurance anyway.....Just take good notes, pictures, and have all of the important info stashed somewhere (like a fireproof safe?) that you can refer to when needed.

Marijuana abuse?
That statement is almost an oxy-moron.
Don't get me wrong, I don't smoke pot, I've never smoked pot, I will never smoke pot.
I don't consume any drugs or alcohol whatsoever, by choice.
But regardless... I think Possession of Marijuana is the only crime that's ever been committed as a result of marijuana consumption.
In my experience with people who smoke marijuana, all it makes them do is sit around and stare at the floor.
Hell, I'd venture so far as to say that marijuana consumption has actually prevented some crime from taking place.
"Hey Bob, get up off the couch and drive me to Wilson Farms, I need to do a quick 'fund raiser'."
"Nahhhh man, I'm just gonna chill here for a while...the black lights make everything look really cool"
I'm obviously being tongue-in-cheek and joking around here.
But in all seriousness...what exactly constitutes "marijuana abuse"?!

The NRA has a policy for liability, and there are a few other outfits that are good. They won't want your gun info, they insure you. One even wants formal training to be insured. Interesting

Pot should be legalized. It's just a plant that makes you dumb, lazy and hungry. That's all it does. Tobacco is much worse on the body but I can buy that almost anywhere. Alcohol is arguably worse as well.
40% of the American population admits to smoking pot at one point or another in their lifetime. That's just the number of people that will admit to it. I'd hazard a guess that the actual number is over 50%. The vast majority of those people have gone on to live productive lives, which seems to give lie to the notion that pot is some sort of gateway drug that will ruin your life. It's absurd that pot is still illegal.
Now there is some evidence that pot can exacerbate existing mental health issues. That was the first thing that came to mind when I read that the Arizona shooter was a pothead. Of course this evidence comes from institutions (the NIDA) with a political agenda to advance. It would be interesting to see some independent studies done on the matter but current Federal law does not even have exemptions to permit independent bodies to engage in scientific study with Schedule I drugs.
Mind you, even if those studies turned out to be valid I would still say it should be legalized. Alcohol can exacerbate mental health problems but we don't prohibit it to everybody based on the inability of a minority to use it in a responsible manner.

I have to agree with legalization. It would put a serious dent in the Mexican cartels coffers.
Well insurance is required on vehicles too yet everyday I see people getting ticketed for no insurance in effect or getting their licenses suspended for carrying no insurance. Wtf is the difference? What a bozo

im in the process of quitting smoking, but I find it funny I smoked pot before I grew up and make a life. There is no addiction at all, none. scary that the legal items, smokes and alcohol are really had to stop when you are addicted. now you can say well you just were not addicted to pot. well, in college if anyone would have been... yeah.
my memory works like it should have, no lingering effects.
people say well it pushes fwd the mentally ill, well what if... yes a what if... what if the drug mellows people out and they feel normal. self medication is probably whats going on, and to be honest I don't believe in self medication and it probably isn't effective. Hell I suffer from insomnia bad, I take a sleeping pill and i feel drugged very badly. when i smoked pot, there was no effects the next day... well just a pile of 7-11 nachos and a 64oz big gulp.
as far as insurance, yeah they can kiss my butt!![]()
