CT long gun law?

I'm going to a gun show in CT. Does anyone know if an out of state resident (NY) can puchase a long gun in CT without a transfer? I have read that long gun purchases require a CT hunting liscense to eliminate the waiting period?

I look at it as a day out, blowing off the winter stink. Also, you never know what may show up at any show, so perhaps worth the 8 bucks. I think the website has a dollar off admission coupon.
The last Westchester County show was interesting, and much better than the first.
