AA .22 conversion kit for G19

I was in East Rochester this afternoon with a few minutes to kill before an appointment so I stopped by American Sportsman just to browse. To my surprise he had 1 Advantage Arms .22 kit for the Glock 19, I couldn't resist and picked it up for $299. I have been looking for one of these since the spring and was very excited to try it out! I stopped by GCL after my appointment to break it in and I was a little disappointed!

I was unable to get through a single magazine without a FTF or double feed! I only had a few minutes to play so I ran through about 50 rounds or so, I was using CCI mini Mags.

Anybody have any recommendations on some different ammo to try?

Try the Remmington .22, it doesn't work in my Ciener AR conversion but works great in my AA G19 Kit and vice versa.

Thanks for the tip Chris. I stopped by and picked up some Rem Golden and it worked much better. I ran through 50 with only 2 FTF, they went with a second strike. I switched back to the CCI just to finish the box and it definitely does not like them. I had an emtpy case jam and had to use a wooden dowel to get the sucker out of the barrel!

I have to pick up a few extra magazines, not used to reloading after a single magazine! I bet AST can get me a good price!

Here is one for the 19 at a good price... Get it while you can. I'm not all that crazy about mine. Fussy on the ammo and I only have 1 magazine at the moment.

That is a good price. I have one for my G21 but would love to get one for my G19. Just can't afford it right now.

I have had one for years and it feeds well with jacketed non hollow point ammo.
I usually use CCi's.

My AA kit for my G21 took about 750 rounds before she was almost flawless. Make sure to follow the ammo rec. on there website. I have had very good luck with CCI Mini Mags..........

Thanks for the input. I have about 250 through it so far, hope it gets better. I started with a box of CCI Mags and 3/10 failed to extrat. I had to break down the pistol and use a dowl each time to get the case out. I switched to Remington Goldens and they eject fine, but 2/10 Fail to Fire. The failures all had strikes on the rim, they usually fire the second time around. It looks like federal is not making the Automatch anymore? no one has any!

I'll keep feeding it and hope it gets better! I do enjoy shooting with it when it works!

An FYI in case anyone has this problem in the future.

I recently broke one of the feed lips on my G17/22 AA kit mag. I didnt realize it was even cracked until I started getting jams on that one mag. I called AA trying to source a new mag body because they don't have them listed in the replacement parts section of their website. I was told to send the old mag back and it would be replaced for FREE. I was told that the mags have a lifetime warranty.
