Remember the guy is in his 70s a person that old it recoil sensitive.
    NY Gun Laws simplified:
Are you in NY? Do you have anything that looks, feels, smells, tastes or could be mistook, even by an imbecile, as a gun? If the answer is yes to both questions turn yourself in to the NYSP.

He was holding the pistol sideways; we all know that's a kill shot.

Only 5 shots off?...not bad at all

Personally, I praise him for this act, and would hope it serves as a lesson to anyone who thinks every day people will give in to the will of thugs.

Old guy was great in everything except his aim. Now taxpayers will feed and shelter the scumbags for a long time.

Wow, I can't believe what one of the dirtbags said. Henderson being one of the dirtbag robbers.

Though Henderson said he doesn't blame Williams for shooting, he takes exception with Williams shooting at him while he was down.
"I was down, and I'm not going to continue to shoot you," he said.

Excellent job by the guy! When that punk turned back around and the guy started firing it's surprising he didn't die of a heart attack.

In addition...the "Palms" Internet café? Does that not sound funny to anyone else? Is Rosy Palms the owner? xD

I Monday-morning-quarterback myself all the time. Comments I make, actions I took, faces and innuendos and hand gestures. Makes me think before I speak next time. Also keeps me apologetic to those I offend and hurt.
As far as a potential lethal action, I KNOW my actions will be MMQ'ed by me, the police, the victims, the attackers and everyone around me and the entire world as video (assume its all on film) makes its way around the web.

Interested what the after action report will be. Especially based on some of the comments the assailants made from jail and the recovery room. Will the bad guys pursue in civil court? (If so, I'd like to send some legal defense funds for the 71yr old man!)

I seen this last night on the news and it does seem he is a little careless on who he is firing at other then the perps. hell he looked as if he took the lil old ladies ear off as he was walking towards the guy running out the door.

    Default Wrong!

If an LEO decided to take action with 2 armed suspects, the first announcement of his presence would be allowing 1 of the 2 to hear the first half of that loud BANG as he made a head shot to one. It would be suicide to try to out gun 2 armed thugs. If you allow them to start firing, which has a good chance of happening with a verbal challenge, you endanger civilians. I'm a retired LEO/instructor and that is how we are trained. Minimize hazard to bystanders.

Civilians can certainly act in self-defense or in the defense of others, but shooting someone who is fleeing, weapon or no weapon, can get a civilian into some serious trouble. I agree that the outcome could not have been better. The thugs will be spending time in prison and the good guy should not be the one penalized. Not Monday QB'ing anything, I thought I was pointing out the obvious...that this particular patron falls well short of a poster boy for CC.

Seen this before but nice to see people standing up against criminals and more importantly a state not punishing people for doing so.
Tact is for people not witty enough to use sarcasm
