Default Trader's Day at Otisco Lake R&G Club, March 26, and our Cabin Fever Shoot, April 10th

Our annual Trader's Day show is coming up quickly. This is an event with all sorts of shooting/hunting/fishing gear to buy, sell, or trade. Folks who visit are encouraged to bring items to sell or trade. This event has been a spring event since the 1980s.

You will find goods for pretty much every interest, from AR15s to trap guns to fishing tackle to reloading supplies to militaria to great deals on hunting gear.

I bought a set of small brass cannons a few years back (for cheap!) which work great with black powder, just to give you an idea of what an eclectic mix of cool stuff you might find here.

All tables inside the clubhouse have been long spoken for. Seems to be a lot of folks with gear to swap this year. There will likely be vendors both under our covered rifle range as well as in the VFW building at the entrance to the club property.

There are still outdoor tables available should anyone be interested to come as a "vendor." Contact me, if so.

There is a $2 admission to get in the show, children 12 and under are free. Saturday March 26, 9AM-2PM at Otisco Lake Rod & Gun, 3015 Otisco Valley Rd, Marietta, NY, 13110.

Our 2nd annual Cabin Fever shoot is scheduled for Sunday April 10th, 9AM-3PM. There will be shooting games for pretty much everything-shotguns, pistols, rifles, centerfire and rimfire. Included will be a fair number of speed/"tactical" games for pistol/ARs, and shotguns. Games are fast paced, with cash prizes awarded to the winner of each game.

The Cabin Fever shoot is next Sunday.

There will be a wide variety of shooting events to compete in:

speed shoots with pistol and rifles (AR friendly) (most hits, best time as the tie breaker)
accuracy shoots for pretty much everything, mostly offhand and some bench
"tactical" shoots for pistols, rifles (AR friendly), and shotguns
    card shoots
    pie plate shoots
other popular games as in our fall turkey shoot
    trap games

If you have it and want to shoot it, bring it.

The way this works: there are multiple sheets inside the clubhouse with the shooting game described. There are 5 slots for each game. Once 5 folks have signed up for a game, it is run on the range. You can sign up for as many games as you want. Unlike our turkey shoot which has food and gift certificate prizes, this is strictly a cash prize match. You purchase entry tickets for as many games as you want, and hand in a ticket when you shoot the match.

There will also be a number of raffles going on.

Hope a few of you folks can make it out.

For anyone interested, these events are a whole lot of fun and (correct me if I'm wrong, Marc) non-members are welcome as well. If not for anything else, it's a great reason to get out of the house and support a local club. Maybe even win some cash in the process!

Indeed, this event is open to the public.

Lets hope we get weather like we enjoyed today.

Anyone who didn't make it to the cabin fever shoot yesterday really missed out. Marc and all the other guys did a great job with it.
