Nice! Remind me to call YHM on monday to see if they can put the gasblock on the barrel, or we'll get a 2-piece one.

Will do.

Probably be easier to just have them change the order to the 2-piece gas block. Then it won't give me any issues in the future.

Did you have to pin the stock? I'm stuck between the ACS/CTR before I order tomorrow.

I am a big fan of the ACS stock so far, it does suck that I will have to pin it.

How to pin a Magpul ACS Stock

That is a great how-to that I plan on following to pin it.

Have you used the ACS and/or CTR before? I'm half and half between either the CTR/ACS. I like that the CTR is lighter and don't really know if I would actually store anything in the ACS.

What is the weight difference between the two? I have not done a side by side, and this is my first build, so I went with the ACS for function and looks.

I am sure I won't need all that storage area, but it can't hurt to have it.

Sleepr56, That is comming together real good!! I'm definatly a fan of the handguard. From the pace you've been going, you'll be pulling the trigger in spring.

^^Thanks man!!

Everything is here to build and shoot. Last night I finished the lower (takedown pin, new grip, spring & buffer), just need to properly tighten the lock nut on the stock and pin it.

The upper is ready for assembly this weekend I hope, if my friend is around. He has proper AR tools and experience in the barrel assembly. I could wait and order the tools myself, but I am too impatient at this point.

Maybe I will get to shoot it prior to March (which was my original goal)!

I plan on ordering rail covers, a forward grip, and an optic eventually to complete the gun.

Here is a quick blurry snap of my shelf of parts, haha. I wish my room had better lighting, then my iphone shots wouldn't look like complete crap.

Really not difficult at all, if you have any mechanical inclination. Nothing more then a pin set, hammer, screw drivers, and a vice.

A package arrived from MidWay USA last night that had most of my armor's tools I ordered. A vice block kit, YHM forearm tool, and YHM forearm endcap. Now just waiting for my carbine stock wrench to arrive, and I can finish up this badboy!!!

And a fancy faux HDR shot....

It is about 90% right now. Stil have to:

-Drill/Pin Stock in place
-Tighten castle nut on stock (armor's tool on route)
-Tighten gas block (some crazy tiney allen key screws, freak sized)
-Shoot lotsa rounds in it, to break her in
-Find an optic!

Mine is hand tight now, I could essentually use a nice covered pair of pliers to tighten it more, but wanted the tool.

Funny story is, I ordered a $10 Armilite carbine spanner wrench off eBay, turns out the guy was out of stock, so he is selling me a DPMS Armorors tool ($40 value) for the cost of the Armilite tool. Pretty awesome if you ask me!
