if you could only have 1 AR-15 type rifle, for the next 20 years...

assuming replacement parts were hard to find / pricey for the 20 year period....

what configuration AR would you get?

Myself....

(not my rifle, but this is the config i would go with)

-20inch
-A3 upper
-fixed A2 stock
-Govt Profile barrel (chrome)
-lower powered Acog

I'll take almost the same setup Matt but I want a 20" A2 HBAR w/ACOG. Basically put an ACOG on my Armalite and let me be.

Definitely my Stag, hands down. It's the lightest M4 I own at less than 7lbs, never a malfunction, never a hiccup.

I am pretty fond of my 16" DPMS upper with a tread protector and an ACE entry stock.

It is about as light as you can get them.

Current configuration is with an Eotech 552, Hogue grip and Magpul polymer trigger guard. It's super basic, but also super light--I probably won't change this one at all in the future (except for maybe adding an XPS so I can re-install my Magpul BUIS)
