AR and AK are good to go at Davis. No steel core or 50mm though. Min shot is 25 yrs for rifle and you have to shoot seated from bench. Min 10 yrd for pistol and you can shoot standing or seated. Believe they keep min yrds long to ensure shots make it all the way downrange. I don't work there so don't hold me to any of this, lol, but I believe info is correct. Personally, I'd rather shoot outdoors but never had any issues at Davis. Haven't been to Masterclass yet.

I'm near Carmel. Looking to do some shooting with other members also. About 6 of us went and built AR's recently when M&P Sport was on sale for $599 and a local store price matched.

Now we all need to go shooting.

Have any of you guys gone shooting yet? Unfortunately work has consumed me the last two weeks.

I'm always looking for new people to shoot with. More of a pistol shooter though. I'm meeting a friend at PF&G today. Unfortunately I'm not a member, but a guest. So I can't invite anyone.

Same here. What do you normally shoot? Perhaps we could make a Blue Mountain trip.

The rifle range is up to 100 yards, pistol range has Bianchi plates, and you can shoot paper also. In addition, there's a trap range, open Wed and Sun afternoons. Guest fee allows you to shoot all day long at the rifle range, I think $10 for NRA members, $15 for non-members.
Trap is $3 for club members, $5 for non-club members.

despite the hourly rate, Davis is has the advantage of being an indoor controlled environment if you want to zero a rifle without having to worry about wind/environmental effects. I'v always found them to be helpful

trek and i are going to master class in monroe today if anyone with their pistol permit would like to meet up. you can also shoot .22s or shotguns there, but nothing with a velocity over 2000 fps unfortunately. aiming for early afternoon. not sure of an exact time yet, still waiting for the hangover to subside.

Great thread....I usually go to the indoor range for handguns in New Milford CT, although I live in dutchess county, it's a 20 minute drive from here.
I pay around $43-$45 an hour which includes 50 rnds ammo and a rented handgun. I can't bring my own because NY resident, but their rented guns are cool. I usually shoot the SW M&P 40c, XD45, and Ruger revolver 357mag. Cool guns, I have a ball!

If any of you are nearby, I'd like to hear from you. Eagle

Sorry for the delay in response, I'm not on here regularly.

I typically shoot trap on Wed. nights at Whortekill Rod & Gun Club over in Hopewell Junction/Fishkill. I've gotten into shooting at ranges recently since I've always gone up to our weekend house in Canajoharie, NY. I recently went to Blue Trail out in Wallingford, CT and even though it's about an hour drive, it's a huge range and a lot of fun. Not to mention Hoffman's gun store is 15 min from the range. I easily made a day out of it. I'd like to go back soon.
