Just wondering anybody here using 300 AAC blackout upper. Im considering it because seems decent 7.62x 35 fits in a standard ar15/m16 magazine same round count as .223 .

I have a .300-221 Fireball Whisper Hush Blackout I put together with a 10.5" barrel from Noveske, and it is an interesting little cartridge. While it is possible to load 30 rounds into a preban 30 round USGI magazine, reliability depends on how deep you've seated the bullets. The ogive should be resting on the rib in the magazine that normally contacts the neck of the cartridge where it's the same diameter of the neck of a .223, or approximately 1/4".
I know someone's put together a chart on this, but I'm not quite sure where it is.
In my own reloading manual, I did make a chart from some of the dimensions I could find:
• Hornady 110 V-Max, OAL: 2.000
• Barnes 110 TSX, 2.015 OAL
• Sierra 155 Palma, 2.150 OAL
• Sierra 220, 2.089 OAL
• Lapua B416 200 grain, 1.960 OAL
• Hornady 150 FMJ-BT 3037, 2.065 OAL
• Nosler Ballistic Tip 125 grain, OAL: 2.085
• Remington AccuTip 125 grain, OAL: 2.085
• Hornady 130 SP #3020, OAL: 2.010
• Sierra H2120 125 ProHunter, OAL: 1.950
• Speer TNT 125 1986, OAL: 2.010
Now, some magazines don't have the rib, so your best bet with those is to load for a COAL enough to fill up the magazine, or about 2.20-2.24", depending on the magazine.
If that's too long-winded, the short answer is that yes, it's possible if you do you're handloading and you do your part.
Factory ammo is designed to feed - at least from Remington.
There is 220 subsonic now, and 125 Premiere Match and AccuTip soon. Later there will be low-cost UMC and also CoreLokt.
You can also shoot Hornady Whisper(R) ammo from MidwayUSA or other dealers. They have 208 subsonic and 110 V-MAX.
thanks for the informative answer . I originally was going for a 6.8 build but ammo seems to cost 30-40% more I searched on google and found 300AAC 13.00 for 20 rounds not bad. An new 300 aac complete upper is 599.00. I was also reading about the other difference is the barrel the bolt carrier is the same as the .223/5.56 so essentially you can use your standard .5.56 upper and just switch the barrel.

Yeah. That $13 ammo is being improved with an OTM bullet and it won't be available again until Sept or so. For now, there will be some premium ammo types for more money, and real cheap ammo is handloading.
Real, real cheap ammo can be had with heavy cast bullets and a cat-sneeze of powder. You can shoot a little miniature thumper for under a dime each.
I am a member of glocktalk.com and this member recently had a post with pictures of his Noveske Blackout. Pretty damn good looking and he gives some reviews of how it shot:

"I keep it NATO"
thats a beauty!
I'm interested in 300blk as well. Is there a preferred twist rate for supersonic loads? I don't plan on shooting subsonic ever and doubt that I will ever load over 150 grain bullets.
I would just stay with 1:8. There is no evidence it does any harm to supersonic at these velocities.
