    Default AR scope?

What do you recommend for my AR close range out to 300 yards?

Does anyone use the Burris Fullfield TAC30 Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 1-4x 24mm Illuminated Ballistic CQ Reticle? Like it?

    Thanks

You should look into the NcStar Mark III Tactical scope. They've got adjustable zoom (either 3-9x or 2-7x) and some other useful features. I don't have one myself but I've heard alot of good things about them. I'm planning on getting one for my next AR.

What is your budget? How about one of the new Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x20

I don't know anything about their TAC30 line, but I do have a Burris Fullfield II on my .450 Bushmaster. Personally, I think it's a great optic! Glass is crystal clear, it's survived a couple of hunting trips unscathed, etc. Is it a Leupold or Zeiss? Hell no. But it'd definitely but them in the same class as, say, Nikon.

i too recommend the NcStar mark 3. I have the range finder edition and it illuminates red and green and of course it has just black crosshairs as well. Very cool scope and has retained its zero very well. ive heard EO techs or aimpoints with magnifiers work well too.. never tried it though, thats of course your willing to spend a pretty penny.

I have both an EO Tech and the NcStar mentioned above and both have their places. I really like the EO Tech for less than 150m and go with the NCStar beyond that. I have them set so that i can remove and replace and really do not lose my zero. so really it depends on your application.

I absolutely LOVE the vortex viper PST 1-4x that we put on our prototype AR308. The glass is fantastic on it.

You may want to check out the Nitrex by Weaver line of scopes on closeout at Natchez shooter supply. I have a 1.5-5x32 Nitrex on my 14.5 BCM middy. It shoots great out to 300 yards once dialed up to 5x. The nitrex scopes are re-badged weaver grand slams with 95% light transmission glass and. For $129 you will be VERY hard pressed to find a scope of this quality.

Depends on how much cash you want to lay out, reticle, etc.

There are a few I have personally used that I like for CQ out to 275 meters + - but they are a bit pricey.
Elcan Specterdr - a little heavy but great glass and mission adaptable
Trijicon TA31RCO-M4CP (BAC) - Great all around ACOG. Requires some adaptation to shoot BAC. But this is my favorite.

I can't vouch for this one which is a lot less expensive. But I have a friend who loves it.
