my upper just got here and im trying to decide on sights for it. its a little different than normal sights because of the flat top not being as long as normal uppers due to the p90 mag set up.

The conversion kit looks like it may be the way to go. Any idea of what CMMG might be looking to get for a kit?
I presume ODgreenAK has one of these then?
(not neccisarily the brand, but type/style/configuration)

If there's no such thing as trolls, how do you explain all the dead unicorns?

Tink - found this thread over on Arfcom... New CMMG 5.7x28 M4 Carbine and Drop In Conversion - AR15.Com Mobile
from within the thread, this was CMMG's response to pricing: "My best guess based on our current 9mm parts(the 5.7 bolt is basically a reworked 9mm bolt) would be :
~$200 For the 5.7 Bolt
~$210 for the 5.7 Barrel
I have no idea on the Magazine"
Constantly the party pooper……..
I must ask; Why?
Once upon a time, a new federal building was built in a U.S. city and the various agencies vacated their previous accommodations. The property owner of the vacated building called a friend of mine and said that some ammunition had been left behind and that none of his previous tenants would claim it. The property owner went on to explain that he’d like it to “go away”. So my friend drove over in his pickup to see what was there.
Wait for it……..cases and cases of FN Herstal 5.7X28 SS190 ammunition.
So, on my next visit we took out my friend’s FN P90 PDW w/suppressor and made a couple of buckets of once-fired brass.
Was it fun? Oh yeah, it was a hoot, but would I even consider that caliber or weapon for myself? No.
The sole redeeming value of the system is that it can fire at 900 rpm from a 50-round magazine. When you take away the full-auto capability and restrict the magazine to 10-rounds the whole thing loses its charm.
^ Definitely - though thanks to shows like Stargate SG-1 and the P90's dominance in video games like Modern Warfare, and even the Ft. Hood shootings unfortunately, there has been a resurgence in the value of the 5.7.

Marketing is a funny world even with firearms.
A well known and respected rifle smith was building .308’s for a few years then his market slowed down. He is a top competitor himself in matches around the country. So he shows up with a 7mm short mag. and spanks the field in a match, many shooters looked at him and say hey I need one of those now, his orders for new builds increase. This goes round and round, great marketing on his part, the truth is he could win or at least place with almost any rifle caliber.
The 5.7 is marketing at least in the civilian world. As K. Mussack posted take away full auto and why would you want one, just because you do not have one yet?

It's a great small-game gun, too! Though I doubt the sort of people have such lofty aspirations as to want to get a $1,500 rifle to shoot a couple squirrels and groundhogs when a $150 .22 WMR would've done it just as readily.
The CMMG upper is promising, though. I wonder how hard it'd be to get one, minus the barrel, to put together as a .32 ACP upper.
i do have a ps 90 and a fn 5.7 hand gun and just wanted to ad an ar 5.7 to the collection. it sucks that while i live in ny i am limited to 10 rounds, but what can you do.
anways, whats everyone think for sights? a set of flip ups?
I rented one of those barreled p90 s at the niagara gunrang. I am a hardcore sg-1 geek. The trigger was kinda awful but it was fun to shoot and no recoil. Cheekweld on that thing sucked but it ejected out the bottom and controls were ambidex. Which I as a southpaw appreciate. No bolt hold open, not a fan of that.
Any effort to rationalize the use of this revolver in a serious combative scenario is evidence of intellectual bankruptcy.
