Default Forum Changes

You may see some changes to the layout of the forum. There will not be any down time but I apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

I'm just going to reorganize the forums a little bit by grouping like boards together. The site was set up before anyone joined so we only have two sections, General Discussion and a Marketplace. I'm going to clan things up a little.

I am also going to add a forum for pistol permit information. Right now permit threads are being posted in general firearms, laws/politics and other boards. I hope to consolidate them into one board.

I know you get used to the boards being in a certain order so I'll try to minimize changes while still tidying things up.

I will post when I'm finished.

I will finish up tomorrow.

Any feedback on what's been done so far is welcome.

Forum changes are complete for now.

Some things you'll notice:
  • A competitive shooting forum has been added. This is for general discussion about any type of competition. Match announcements still go in the events forum, not here.
  • A pistol permits forum has been added. Please post any permit discussion (NY state or other) in here.
  • A Shooting ranges forum has been added. While moving threads around I realized there were a lot of discussions about shooting ranges so I made a section for it.
  • The Carry/Conceal forum is still there. It's now for anything to do with concealed carry that does not involve permit or law questions/comments. Cover garments, holsters, etc...
  • A Firearms in the News section has been added. Share any news articles regarding firearms you find there.

I realize some posts may fit into more than one category. Just pick one and no one is going to give you a hard time. If anyone has any other changes (new sections) they would like to see please post or PM me.

Thanks
Jeff

Glad it's not that annoying to have things changed all around. Once you get used to boards in one order it's annoying to have them changed around.

Well initially it was a little confusing but after actually looking at it it's way more organized

Nothing was deleted. The majority of the threads were pistol permit related which were moved to the new pistol permit section. The rest of them are still in the "carry/conceal" section.

If you're looking for something specific try a search. It's possible that I may have moved it to another section. I definitely did not delete anything though.

thanks, found it in law & politics, , anyhow, nice to hear others opinions on "where is it written" concerning concealed carry, the more i look into this, the more i see how a bunch of "mental lightweights" write these "grey area" laws,, laws should be like a blueprint, something you can fax across the country, to a machinist, or architect, fully understood, no confusion, no second guessing, no second opinions, why? because professionals in these fields are trained to do this, unlike the politicians who somehow get into a position of authority & expertise, their not required to pass an intelligence test to gain office, yet they dictate to us, confusing what should be simple to understand, if some of them had to butt heads with the founding fathers,, they'd be laughed at & humiliated,, ,,,,,,,thanks for use of the forum,,
