this site was mentioned on sniper central the other day (not by me) when it came to NY laws.

I thought it was pretty cool that it has become a good site for reference.

Google. My now-grown-up daughter wants to see my NYC childhood and adult neighborhoods. I've been out-of-state for a while and I wanted to get the best info on how to deal with my carry gun while in The Empire State. This is a fine forum. You should be proud of it.

As for dealing with "my little friend"....ouch.

Not on this trip, Sir. But in the future, things might be different. I can remember when no one knew what CCW stood for.

I found the site thru a search engine (google, I think) but I had to brainstorm some keyword because my initial searches didn't turn up much. Here are the word I came up with:

NY firearm forum
NY hunting forum
NY arms forum
NY gun forum
NY gun sports forum

So far, this is the only site I use as it is somewhat close in ideals in the forum that I used when I lived in AZ. I miss the loose gun laws I am used to but this site seems devoted to making NYS similar to states that don't regulate guns closely. I wish pistols didn't need to be registered here but that's the way things are right now. GOOD GUYS ARE THE ONLY ONES AFFECTED BY GUN LAWS. Bad guys don't care! Once law makers know that gun laws will change more favorably in our direction.

I feel that EVERY registered weapon is one that can be confiscated if the anti-gun lobbyists get their way and small arms are outlawed.

If I remember correctly, my NRA magazine reports that CCWs and their variants and up 40% for 2009.

My daily Google search of "firearms" and "shooting" kept turning up NYFirearms so I started reading and joined. I also read many of the others like THR, etc. I enjoy the expertise and humor found here at NYF. You folks don't exhibit the over the top macho found elsewhere. Thanks
