Any way to change the site color? The gray is tough on my eyes. Thanks
It's been requested by several people. At this time we are not going to revise the site colors. It's a LOT of work. It will be considered the next time the site is revised which will probably be when we upgrade to the new version of vbulletin.
One thing to consider... the background is green, not gray. That might mean your monitor colors are out of adjustment. Adjusting it could help in the meantime.
On my calibrated monitor the background where the post text shows is a light olive green. The background around there where the "post reply" and other buttons are is a darker olive green. The left and right sides of the screen is an even darker olive green.

How about just offering one of the templates available? They're easy to apply to the site and then people can choose what they prefer.

Thank you Jeff.

I like it the way it is now. I think a bright color would bother my eyes more. Just adding my two cents...

Maybe this will help, I found this over on the Jeep forum I frequent and gave it a try. It will change the page to a white background with black text.
Go to this page and click on Add To Firefox.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
Then go to this page and install the page recolorization script.
All Sites: Page Recolorization for Greasemonkey
If you are using Firefox, go up to the Tools drop down and find Greasemonkey in the menu. Go to Manage User Scripts and select the page recolorization script in the left window. In the right window click Add in the top box and the page you are on will show up for selection. If you are on the NYFirearms site, that is what will come up. Close the window and the forum will show up in black text on a white background. You can enable and disable Greasemonkey in the drop down Tool menu depending on whether you want the change on the site you are on.

my background is also gray. I just push Ctrl + and zoom it in for easier reading
ok, I went to ---> control panel -----> adjust computer settings -----> color management
jump through all the hoops, and you get to a screen that says----> adjust gray color
I adjusted mine for perfect color balance and gray color, guess what........it's your forum that's messed up.
all the other forums I got to (which BTW, are all run on Vbulletin) all have excellent color back ground and font's. Three HVAC forums, Two Firearms forums and two motorcycle forums are all fine as far as color goes.
So it seems that NYfirearms color scheme has an issue and not my (our) computer(s)
Haha...........it's your fault, Na, na,na,na,naaaaa, it's all on you......
ok, I can still read the thing so it ain't that big a deal![]()

It is green on every computer I have ever viewed the forum on.
For me it happens to be one of the easiest on my eyes to read.

Looks green here too... title bars are grey. Doesn't matter though... we'll be moving to vb4 in the next couple months and we're going to refresh the look of the site completely. Just hold your horses as we try to find time to get it done!

Thats exciting.
I remember when you switched to this one. Change is good![]()
I see black print on an olive green background.
Gives me eye strain.
Really, really, really, hard to read. May have to do with faulty color vision but It's a real strain for me to read on this site.
Red, the grey is extremely difficult for me to read as well. If you are running FireFox try the change that is reccomended by Gretsilly in the 7 post on this thread. Worked great for me.

Don't worry we'll be modifying the site colors when we upgrade.

You can also hold down the control key on the keyboard and scroll up a couple of clicks with your mouse button. It doesn't help the colors but it zooms in and makes the font bigger.

i hate doing that by accident.

I see now if you just open a thread and then go up to edit/select all, all the posts in the thread are highlighted and easy to read.
