    Default Tactical Vests

I was thinking about getting a tactical vest, but since I'll be a member of a shooting range soon, I don't want to come off looking like a tool. So what's the consensus? Are they cool, or tool?

Cool for training days at MDTS or Pathfinder where it's needed. Tool if it's just to go to the range. It's bad enough your shooting an AR or AK, most grumpy old guys at the range frown on those guns.

Which range did you become a member of anyways? I am joining the Pompey Gun & Rod club next month....40 bucks and 2 minutes from my house.

Cool at a class or even if that's how you like to carry your gear in the woods. Tool at the range punching holes in paper.

OH NOES! I am scared of what people may think of me if I don't conform!

Wear it if you want, don't if you don't want. Who cares what other people at the range think as long as they don't dislike you because you are unsafe. (Or because you don't clean up after yourself...)

Well, you know, I don't want to look lame. I've never been to a firing range so I don't really know what to expect. I don't want to be the only dude at the party wearing a costume.

The vest IS a TOOL... If your training with it for the Apocalypse or whatever, good to go, whether it be a class or not... You NEED to know your gear and it's limitations.

If your strollling around Wally World hoping to pick up some A$$, Then your a TOOL...!

The only vest I'd wear is one that carries my gear and could also take Trauma Plates OR Ballisitc Panels.

There is this dude he goes by the name Gecko45, you should get in touch with him... He will be happy to show you the ropes of a tactical vest.

I was just thinking something like this. Very basic to hold my clips and handgun when I finally get around to getting a permit and all.

If I saw you wearing that at the range I would probably tell all of my friends about it

I wear my magazines to the range in the same pouch that I would use for carrying. Might as well practice with what I carry, right?

I have that exact same vest. I wear it when we go shoot on my buddies land, much easier to have everything on you instead of going back to the Ranger to get more mags. I could care less if I look like a tool, it's easier FOR ME and that is all I care about.

Also, why do the guys at the range care if I shoot the AR-15 there? What the hell are they firing that makes them better than me?

Just for the record, my plan was to just have the vest. Probably over a sweatshirt with some jeans and my sneakers or maybe my doc marts.

    +1

I have a molle plate carrier that I used with some mag pouches for my carbine classes. Pretty much the only way I was able to carry 6 mags on me at a time.

I work in Iraq and don't have a vest that extreme lol, get a standard plate carrier that you can carry 6 mags on and call it a day. Then you can go running with plates too, helps a ton on cardio!

Do I need plates? It's not like I get shot at or anything.

Maybe I'm missing something? I looked that vest up and it doesn't look like there are any pouches on it at all.
