I wanna know how you did it.

I've been thinking about it and I'm not reall a very skilled wood worker so trying to buils a snug form fitted interior has had me wondering about all kinds of ways....what did you do?

It's not mine. I just linked to it.

He posted a how to in the thread. Click the link and go to page 2 of the ar15.com thread and it's there. No pics of the process, just instructions.

Made an AR guitar case this weekend - AR15.COM

that thread has pics of how the guy did it. Pretty cool. I know what it's like going in and out of my apartment with stuff when neighbors are outside in the summer. That would make it easier to be discreet about it.. Easier than waiting until dark to bring the rifle case inside

why a guitar case? so you can carry it on your motorcycle? whats wrong with a rectangular case?

it is nicely built but i prefer something like this:

or this

but if you insist on concealing your weapon to smuggle it into the next kenny chesney concert:

Nothing at all wrong with these. I have starlite and Pelican of similar purpose.

Its just a chicks dig it factor combined with a point made above...... Sometime carrying my rifle isn't something I want to or need to advertise.

I know a couple guys who use Tennis racket bags and baseball bat bags.

I like the guitar case idea for the style factor.

One of the ways was thinking about doing this is with the spray in foam.

Spray it in the case.
Lay plastic on top of the foam and then the felt liner and press the items into the foam and let it harden that way.

I'm not sure it will work nor do I know anyone has tried this. Again its just a theory.

Someday when I have nothing else to do (yeah right) I'll give it or some other approach a try.

I tried to use the spray foam idea with plastic sheeting, it didn't work for me. The spray foam didn't dry , or expand correctly where it was encased in the plastic. I think the foam needs to be open to the air to dry correctly. I was trying to make a custom bumper cover support though not a gun case.
