Umarex .22LR H&K look-alike… and it’s licensed
I wrote a blog about the lawsuit H&K filed against ATI a while ago where ATI was determined to be infringing on H&K’s design by importing their GSG-5 .22LR H&K clone. Well, it looks like there is an alternative on the market and this time it’s licensed by H&K. The Umarex rifles come in clones [...]

SCOPE proposal for renewable pistol licenses
I was taken aback by an email I received today. It included a proposal from SCOPE that supports renewable pistol licenses. In the email SCOPE justifies the view by saying “Based on the high probability of the passage of one or both of these bills, which we feel it is not realistic to blanketly oppose, [...]
Emerson La Griffe neck knife review by Chris Fry of MDTS Training
Last fall I was admiring knives at the Rochester gun show when I ran across this small knife. I passed on it so I could do a little research on the internet having never owned an Emerson knife before. It got a lot of praise so I decided to pick it up the next day. [...]

News article on increased hunting and fishing license fees

Rockland county man wins appeal after gun confiscation
A Rockland County man surrendered 3 handguns, 3 rifles, a shotgun and shooting accessories to the sheriff’s department pursuant to a temporary order of protection as he went through a divorce in early 2002. When he returned to claim his property in mid-2006 he learned that his property had been destroyed. Last week the appellate [...]
Explosion at Bear ammo plant in Russia
Apparently the Ulyanovsk ammunition plant located in Russia had an explosion as soldiers were trying to decommission munitions in one of their arsenals by means of controlled detonations. The Ulyanovsk plant is the manufacturer of Brown Bear and Silver Bear ammunition. This is not supposed to disrupt the manufacture of ammunition because the plant was [...]
